We are committed to the Community Policing model, which has been the foundation of this Police department for many decades.

Pursuant to the December, 2021, Attorney General Guideline “Promoting Diversity in Law Enforcement Recruiting and Hiring”, the Allenhurst Police Department is committed to doing all that we can to hiring staff who reflect the communities that we serve. See N.J.S.A. 52:17B-4.10. 2019 Census Data indicates that population of Allenhurst is  93% White,  >1% Black,  >1% Hispanic and  >1% Asian.

As of December 31, 2021, the Allenhurst Police Department had 9 full-time officers: 100 % White males. Although our diversity numbers include only White officers, our Police Department is always looking for ways to increase our diversity, regarding both race and gender. We accomplish this by attending job fairs, using social media and application “Apps”, which allow us to broaden our applicant pool, whenever a position opens.

We will continue our efforts, going forward, to seek diverse applicants in our application process.
